10 Foods Every Pregnant Woman Should Stay Away From

The news of being pregnant brings with it lots of joy and a good sense of responsibility. If you're expecting, you've got to take some precautions so as to make sure your baby remains safe. Apart from taking other measures, you furthermore may need to select your diet rigorously. Given below are ten foods that you simply should avoid if you're about to have a baby.

1. Alcohol
While you're pregnant, you should not have even a drop of alcohol. Having alcohol while you're pregnant can cause birth defects and kid abnormalities, which are a few things you do not need to experience.

2. Caffeine
Too much of caffeine isn't sensible for your baby's health. Among other disadvantages of caffeine is that it keeps you awake depriving you of sleep. Drinking over one cup of coffee can raise your risk of abortion. Moreover, your baby might not be able to gain enough weight as a result of your consumption of caffeine.

3. Raw Meat
You should keep one's hands off from every kind of uncooked meat together with seafood, chicken and pork. Again, the raw meat might contain coli which will cause you to sick.

4. Raw Eggs
Raw eggs are rich in bacteria that will cause illness. The enteric bacteria virus causes plenty of diseases, like gastroenteritis and infectious disease. Rather than raw eggs, you'll need to possess pasteurized eggs.

5. Unripe Papaya
Fruits together with unripe papaya might contain parasites. To get on the safe side, you must wash fruits before eating. Besides, make sure you choose only ripe papaya, as unripe papaya might cause uterine contraction.

6. Pineapples

8. Fish

  10. I am not sure about the pineapple...really? Cigarettes, yes, they're not food, though. I ate meat when I was pregnant, and I ate food, just not the ones that are high in lead content as those can cause delays in brain development.

  13. Though I accept with most, I don't with Papaya & Pineapple. After reading it somewhere I actually consulted my doctor and she said it doesn't have a solid scientific backup.

  15. While I agree to some of the items on the list, I didn't avoid pineapple, meat, cheese, fruit juices, milk or coffee. My kids were born just fine and that diet didn't pose any threat to my pregnancy or to my kid's health.

    I think it's important the pregnant women consult their OB-GYNE regularly and also do research. Pregnancy is not the time to diet. So it's not being selfish of the mother if she indulge on any food or drink so long as it's not health threatening.

  16. These are definitely something you should avoid especially alcohol. I don't think cigarettes should be part of a food list but that's a good reminder too. It should be one of the things to avoid when you're pregnant.

  21. I know about the first few foods but I didn't know fruit juices and cheese are harmful! Gosh... this is something all pregnant women should really know! It might just save some lives!
