The National Business and Technical Examinations Board has announced the results for the 2015 May/June National Business Certificate/National Technical Certificate examinations.
The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the board, Dr. Olatunde Aworanti, who made the announcement in Benin, the Edo State capital, on Thursday, said that 19,000 candidates scored five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.
Aworanti explained that the figure
represented 54.09 per cent of a total of 75, 468 candidates who sat for
the examinations. He added that this was 12.91 per cent lower than last
year’s figure.
The registrar, who said that 54,016
candidates, representing 70.25 per cent, had five credit and above, with
or without English and Mathematics, noted that 15,848 sat for the
Engineering Trade, 6,846 entered for Construction Trades; 1,710 for
Miscellaneous Trades; and 16,818 for Business Trades.
He said that the board had pruned down
the number of examination centres which he said was responsible for the
reduction in examination malpractice to 1.9 per cent, representing 2,079
incidences.
