SKUSAT SCHOLARSHIP! IS IT GAMBLING OR SCHOLARSHEEP?
WHAT IS A SCHOLARSHIP? For a mere layman it will say, a scholarship means grant of money towards education. However, to broaden this and for the sake of this topic, a scholarship can be said to be an amount of money given to somebody by organisation (Public or Private) to help pay for their education.
WHAT IS A GAMBLING? Gambling is the activity of playing games of chance for money and of betting on some elements. It is a way to risk losing something in the hope of being successful. That is, to lose something as money, possessions, and so on.
However, from the definitions let us go straight to the business of the day. SKUSAT Scholarship, is a programme to give an educational grant of up to N300,000 to the winners after a successful aptitude tests of scoring high grade of 80% and also a consolation grant of N50,000 and N20,000 to other category of applicants who also perform well but do not meet the required yardstick.
However, it should be clearly stated that this form of scholarship or the so called educational grant, which is being conducted by SKUSAT I think should not be called any other name than GAMBLING.
As defined above, Scholarship says; for granting of money without involving the kind of risks attached to SKUSAT. For me, I think the risks a participant or seeker might which to take can be surfing the internet for necessary information about the scholarship, registration costs if involve submitting and attaching of credentials and some necessary files.
In the opposite one, the gambling game called SKUSAT scholarship has done more harm than good to the populace of Nigeria; they have robbed Peters to pay Pauls. Sincerely speaking, some have gained and won from this scholarsheep scheme but what about majority whom they have indirectly impoverished. The scholarship scheme is for you to register, generate some codes and PAY ONE THOUSAND NAIRA (N1,000) to enter the aptitude test. This, a thousand naira collected from each candidate is being used to pay whoever emerges as a successful candidate.
However, SKUSAT might be seen as a good scheme to help poor students but for me, looking into this, reasonable men and women will agree with me that SKUSAT is a GAMBLING GAME not a scholarship.
Though, it is a free world to enter but our stand is that a review should be done on their scheme, let their scholarship be a free for indigenes and not indirectly using this scheme to exploit the poor Nigeria Students and be laughing with joy when generating income and leave the poor students in sad mood of OHHHH I HAVE WASTED THIS ONE THOUSAND NAIRA.
Finally, to all great Nigerian students this is not to discourage you for scholarship scheme but we demand for reasonable scholarship not gambling game. Even a brilliant student might even fail this type of Skusat scholarship test because of some questions been asked there, surprisingly people gang up teams from different fields or specialization for the so called SKUSAT SCHEME and still fail.
An adage says; the silence of the good leaders or men add more to the harmful elements of the society. By the way, what we are saying is that, don’t be surprised if you see this GAMBLING SCHEME called scholarship been started by another organization very soon.
Thanks a lot that's all I want to hear
ReplyDeletebut PTDF also collects 1000 naira for the registration and almost the whole Nigeria applies , yet only a few persons get it....my dear i dont see anything in a 1000 naira that you will still dash one girl or just waste on thieves like GLO, MTN and the rest still
ReplyDeleteThe problem we have in Nigeria is that we are always looking for totally free things to benefit from and that's when most are eventually scammed. Most scholarship are not free, at least you need to pay for form etc. Moreover #1000 is not too much
ReplyDeleteYou guys do not see the scheme in play here, when you do the maths you will understand, you see where he mentioned that people gang up who are specialized in different fields to increase their odds of winning and yet they don't,what do you think that means?
ReplyDeleteThis is a big exploitation of Nigerian students. Let's do the math if 10,000 students register = 10,000*1000=10m.How many students do they give the Schorlaship? It's a money making venture my brothers!

ReplyDeleteSkusat is a full blooded scam. I took the quiz this year, actually I had the past questions with me and I did registered for two, you see. After writing the first one, I noted all the questions in the pq, most of them were there, and those that were knew I found the solution before the second quiz, so I was very sure I'll come successfully at least in one of their limits,so I wished, till I saw my score. The first one was 24%,the second one was 34%,like I didn't even know any of the questions like I guessed through out, and you know, their minimal was 55%. Generally, you must avoid skusat like fire, one thing you will get disappointed full time, all your hope. Don't ever put your sweat in a seeming painless deal. And skusat is a biggest scam ever was. I'm very sure all those pictures of awards on their site were acted. They appear so alluring, they could sip your heart into believing you can come out with something. They lured me with 10k I was supposed to had won in their Pre-Test, they never told me till the final day that I won't be able to withdraw the money till I attain their unobtainable limits, in fact I was their prey and that was their bait. Don't be like me for your own good.
